What is AccessCheck?

AccessCheck is an accessibility scanning tool that helps you find and fix issues that prevent people with disabilities from using your website.

Why Accessibility Matters

Over 1 billion people worldwide live with some form of disability. When your website is not accessible, you are excluding a significant portion of potential customers and may be violating legal requirements.

Common accessibility issues include:

  • Images without descriptions (alt text)
  • Low contrast text that is hard to read
  • Buttons that cannot be clicked with a keyboard
  • Videos without captions

What AccessCheck Does

AccessCheck scans your website pages and identifies issues that violate WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards. For each issue found, you get:

  • A clear description of what is wrong
  • Why it matters for users with disabilities
  • How to fix it with step-by-step instructions
  • Code snippets showing exactly what to change

WCAG Compliance Levels

  • Level A: Minimum level - must fix these issues
  • Level AA: Recommended level - required by most laws
  • Level AAA: Highest level - aspirational for most sites

Most accessibility laws require Level AA compliance. AccessCheck checks your site against Level AA by default.
